2009 Seasons Commence

Get your playing cards ready because we are back for 2009.

Most venues UPC and Top Gun will be running cash games next week to get your poker skills ready for the new season. Check your local venue for details.

UPC Season 1 2009 commences on Monday 12th January and welcomes two new venues Mekong Panthers in Cabramatta and Triglav Panthers in St Johns Park.

The Top Gun Season still has two more weeks to go, with week 12 commencing Monday January 12th 2009. We will also be welcoming a new Top Gun Venue at the Paddington Bowling Club every Wednesday night.

Top Gun Christmas Poker

Just a note to keep you all informed about the Top Gun calendar for the silly season.

Next week from December 15th to December 21st it is poker as normal with Top Gun Points.

We will be holding special poker games during the two festive weeks these will be held as follows:

Our UPC is on Sunday December 14th. The week before Christmas we will be holding special fun poker games at all of our venues, come along and join in the festive cheer.

GREY GUMS HOTEL POKER AND RAFFLE

On Sunday 14th December, poker will commence a little later at 3.30pm, for a very good cause.

The Grey Gums Hotel is having a special Toy Raffle, tickets are available from today at $2 each and all the proceeds will go to the Nepean Hospital Children's Ward. There is over $3200 worth of prizes to be won*.

So why not go along at the usual time and spread a little Christmas cheer and take part in the raffle for the kids of the Nepean area.

New UPC Season Starts This Week!!
Season 4 UPC gets underway today (Monday 22/9). For the next 11 weeks, another season of high drama at the tables as everyone jostles for their spot at the UPC, trying to win the $10,000 cash!!! Check out the venues page by late Monday for some new venues to play your favourite game!!

Where's Wally Jackpots!!!

For those of you new to Poker Challenge, you may not be aware of our Where's Wally promotion.

Each week, at a number of selected venues, a cash jackpot is derived from a $1 or $2 entry fee by the players. At the beginning of the game, a players name is drawn (from those who entered) to determine who is that week's Wally. If that player ends up winning the poker game, they win the Jackpot!!

Each week, an extra Wally is chosen (up to a maximum of 5) to increase the competition!! Additionally, if you knock a Wally out, you get yourself a free beer!!

Ian Iddles becomes latest UPC Champ
Congratulations to Ian Iddles for taking home the $10,000 cash in the Season II UPC. Ian came to the final table as chip leader, and finally defeated Troy Harris heads up, when the flop gave him a straight.

FREE ENTRY TOP GUN VENUE FOR HILLS
Kellyville Country Club will be opening their doors to our Top Gun players starting Monday 7th April. Rego starts at 6.30pm and the fun begins at 7.30pm, and it is free to enter. The Top Gun starts with a 2000 stack, with unlimited $10 rebuys in first hour with 1 add-on permitted at the break. Top Gun Points apply.

NEW BLUE MOUNTAINS VENUE
Katoomba Bowling Club Dora Street Katoomba, will be joining Poker Challenge on Saturday March 29th. Registration is from 6.00-7.00pm and there is a guaranteed prize pool of $500. Entry Fee is $5 check out the venue page for more details. This venue will commence as a UPC game at the start of season 2.

Royal Flush a great start to 2008

2008 at The Heritage Hotel in Wilberforce was greeted by the largest starting crew of 50 players on Wednesday Jan 16.

With the new 2000 starting chips giving a deeper stack to all players, a highlight of the evening was a Royal Flush to eventual third place winner Trent Hile.

With a $5 buy in for 2008 and a cash bonus of $150 from the hotel management, players will be vying for a pool of around $400 per evening - incentive enough to venture west over the Hawkesbury River.

Sign in is 6.30pm for a 7.30 start with $5 payable at registration.

KATOOMBA RSL SUNDAY JOINS UPC
You can now play at Katoomba RSL Club with all the usual prizes but from the beginning of this season Ultimate Poker Challenge points will be up for grabs. Entry fee is $10 with Minimum Payouts of: 1st - $250 2nd - $150 3rd - $70 4th - $30 So come along and join in the fun registration is at 4.00pm and the game starts at 5.00pm.

Top Gun Champion Crowned
A new Top Gun Champion was crowned on the weekend. Congratulations to Andrew Roberts who beat 64 other runers to take him his share of $14,000.

Top Gun Season 3 Final

This Sunday is the final chance to grab last minute points for the current Top Gun season, so head on out to an Aces High tournament for your chance to secure a spot in the top 64. The Top Gun grand final will be held at Emu Plains Sporting and Recreation Club (Leonay Pde, Leonay) on Saturday 13 October. Registration for this event starts at 11:30am and closes at 12:30pm, with the game to commence at 1pm

Last night, Boulos Karam, was crowned the latest Top Gun Champion. After a marathan 6 hour tournament, Boulos beat off the other 63 Players, finally defeating Arthur Baris Heads Up. Well played Boulos
