Rules


The following rules apply to all Poker Challenge events:

  • Participation in all Poker Challenge events is open to anyone aged 18 or over.
  • To participate in any event, all players must first register with Poker Challenge. Sign up forms are available at all events. Poker Challenge has the right to contact you with further information on Poker Challenge events and for other relevant matters. As per our privacy policy, we will not give your details to any third party, nor sell your data.
  • To participate in any event, Poker Challenge has the right to request Photo ID. Failure to show relevant proof may result in non-participation in the event.
  • All Poker Challenge games will be no limit Texas Hold 'em tournaments.
  • All Poker Challenge events are self-dealt
  • All Chips at all Poker Challenge events have no monetary value. They belong the property of Poker Challenge and cannot be exchanged for cash or any currency. Any property of Poker Challenge must not leave the venue.
  • Any participant caught colluding, cheating or behaving inappropriately as deemed by the Tournament Director may be disqualified from the league and excluded from future participation in Poker Challenge events.
  • Poker Challenge has the right to use Members details in marketing literature and promotions.
  • Poker Challenge players agree to be photographed whilst they are participating in any event held at any authorised venue and agree to the publication of those photographs in various forms of media, including but not limited to, flyers, brochures, the internet, newspapers, magazines, etc, and agree to waive any rights they may have in that regard.
  • Poker Challenge has the right to change these terms at any time. For updated terms, please visit this site.
  • The decision of the Tournament Director is final. They will settle any disputes, questions or problems that may arise during or after the event.

Tournament Rules

  • All players will start with 1500 chips.
  • The blinds will start at 25/50, and will increase throughout the night, as per the Tournament Directors instructions.
  • Poker Challenge has the right to change the starting chip stacks and blinds as appropriate for each venue.
  • In the event that the tournament is not finished in the appropriate time, the Tournament Director may, at his own discretion, stop the tournament and placements will be decided based on the chip count at the time of stopping the tournament.

Poker Challenge Points System

Poker Challenge will reward all players at all venues with points based upon their finishing position at any individual tournament. Points will be given as follows:
  • 1st: 500 points
  • 2nd: 350 Points
  • 3rd: 250 Points
  • 4th: 200 Points
  • 5th: 150 Points
  • 6th: 100 Points
  • 7th: 75 Points
  • 8th: 50 Points
  • 9th - 16th: 25 Points
  • 17th to Last - 10 points
Over the season, all points will be accumulated and the top players at each venue will be invited to the Ultimate Poker Challenge. The points throughout the season for each player can be viewed on the website. Ultimate Poker Challenge The Ultimate Poker Challenge is the final for all successful participants who have finished at the top of their respective venues.
  • Poker Challenge will announce the details of the Ultimate Poker Challenge (UPC) in advance of the date.
  • Only those players who meet the qualifying standard of their venue, including any playoff seat, are eligible to play in the Ultimate Poker Challenge (UPC).
  • If a player qualifies at more than one Poker Challenge venue, that does not open up a spot for another player.
  • If a qualified player cannot attend the UPC, their spot cannot be taken by another player.
  • A player who has already qualified at one Poker Challenge venue is not allowed to play in any playoff game, either at their own venue, or another. If he/she does so, Poker Challenge reserves the right to remove them from the Ultimate Poker Challenge.
  • Qualifying players must bring photo ID to the Ultimate Poker Challenge in order to register to play. Failure to do so may result in their exclusion from the Ultimate Poker Challenge.
  • Qualifying players are required to confirm their attendance at the Ultimate Poker Challenge. Failure to do so may result in their exclusion from the Ultimate Poker Challenge.
  • To qualify for the Ultimate Poker Challenge, you must have a membership number. Poker Challenge will make its best efforts to ensure all points are correct and relate to the one membership card. However, it is the player's responsibility to make sure this is the case and have this fixed prior to the week of the playoffs. Poker Challenge will not take any responsibility for players that have 2 membership cards and have not advised Poker Challenge in time

Top Gun Shoot Out Rules and Regulations

The Top Gun Shoot Out is the season relating to all Poker Challenge cash tournaments. For a list of the venues, please see the Top Gun section of this site.
  • All regular Poker Challenge rules apply to all Top Gun tournaments (see above).
  • Top Gun tournaments are normally buy-in tournaments. Where appropriate, Players MUST pay the registration fee in order to play in the tournament. Payment may only be received by cash.

  • All players in the Top Gun tournaments must be a holder of a valid Poker Challenge membership card.
  • Upon paying, players will receive a non-transferable ticket confirming they have paid, which must be kept on them at all times.
  • Registration will require the player showing their payment ticket as well as photo ID. Failure to show photo ID may result in refusal to play that game.
  • At the start of the tournament, all players must show their ticket in order to collect starting chips. Failure to do so will result in their inability to play in the tournament. If a players loses their ticket, Poker Challenge, nor its staff, nor the venue will be liable to replace it.
  • Players will start with 2000 in chips, blinds will start at 25/50, and increase throughout the event.
  • Poker Challenge has the right to change the starting chip stacks and blinds as appropriate for each venue.
Players will earn points for their placings, with all points for all venues going towards the Top Gun Leaderboard. Points will be awarded as follows:
  • 1st: 500 points
  • 2nd: 350 Points
  • 3rd: 250 Points
  • 4th: 200 Points
  • 5th: 150 Points
  • 6th: 100 Points
  • 7th: 75 Points
  • 8th: 50 Points
  • 9th - 16th: 25 Points
  • 17th to Last - 10 points
The Top 64 players only will be invited to play in the Top Gun final, with a guaranteed $10,000 in the prize pool!!. All prize money will be returned to the players with 90% to be returned that night, and the remaining 10% to be used at the Top Gun final. It is the player's responsibility to ensure that all Top Gun venues use the same membership card. Poker Challenge cannot make any changes in the week leading up to the finals.

In the event that a player in the Top 64 cannot make the Top Gun final, Poker Challenge reserves the right to invite the next player on the leader board in their place. This will only occur after a player confirms they cannot play, and Poker Challenge acknowledges this in writing to them. Poker Challenge will then invite the next person on the leader board.

Under no circumstances will additional players be invited the day of the event to take another's place.

Top Gun Aces High Events

  • The Top Gun Shoot Out includes several Aces High Events, taking place on Sunday afternoons.
  • All Aces High Events offer add-ons and rebuys during, and at the end of, the first hour. Rebuys are offered when players have no chips remaining, whilst all players can add-on at the end of the first hour.
  • If players miss a blind during the rebuy process, they will be required to add the blinds at the very next hand. Any small blind missed will be added to the pot, and will not be considered a bet on the player's side.
